Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Our purpose is to provide the following services to the 56 RDA Groups: 1) Setting relevant and appropriate standards for RDA Groups and RDA specific roles through issuing policy and procedure to ensure the safety and effectiveness of RDA programmes. 2) Providing training and resources for RDA Groups to meet the standards. 3) Certification of RDA people and RDA Groups against the standards, primarily Coaching qualifications and the RDA Group Operational Certificate. 4) Support to RDA Groups to meet standards, maintain their affiliation status and run operations effectively. 5) Marketing and Fundraising to support local RDA Group efforts. National Office manage national brand standards and fundraise to heavily subsidise the cost of providing the above services to RDA Groups. The goals of NZRDA are designed to ensure common standards by focusing on the development and improvement of Rider Outcomes, Service Provision, Skills, Brand Awareness and Governance at RDA Groups.

Entity Structure

Governance: The Board consists of up to 4 RDA Members elected by a ballot of the RDA Groups at an AGM and up to 4 Co-opted Members appointed by the RDA Members at a Board Meeting. There are currently 3 RDA Members and 3 Co-opted Board Members. Operational Management: The NZRDA National Team Operations are led by a full time CE with 3 full time and 2 part-time employees. The National Standards, Training and Certification Team comprise of around 30 Volunteers.
